Environmental monitoring

Workplace environmental monitoring — IAQ, comfort and ventilation in one record

Workplace environmental monitoring unifies the indicators that govern occupant health, comfort and productivity — air quality, thermal conditions and ventilation effectiveness — into a single auditable dataset.

01

What workplace environmental monitoring covers

The programme combines continuous indoor air quality monitoring (CO₂, PM2.5, TVOC, formaldehyde where required), thermal comfort indicators (dry-bulb temperature, RH, operative temperature), and ventilation performance metrics (outdoor-air supply rate, demand-controlled response).

Sensors are calibrated, mounted at breathing-zone height in normally occupied areas, and reported through a single platform — so building, HR and ESG teams read from the same source of truth.

02

Why unify the dataset

IAQ and thermal-comfort complaints overlap. A meeting room reported as "stuffy" may be over-temperature, under-ventilated, or both — and the action needed is different. Unified monitoring exposes the actual driver in minutes rather than weeks of point investigations.

Unified data also supports compliance evidence under HSE Regulation 6, audit evidence under WELL Air and BREEAM HEA 02, and ESG reporting under GRESB and adjacent frameworks.

03

Outputs and stakeholders

Live dashboards for facilities; monthly compliance reports for H&S; quarterly performance summaries for asset managers and ESG leads; tenant-facing dashboards where required. See related services in workplace IAQ and office ventilation monitoring.
